Dealer Monitoring

Intercity Alarms’ monitoring facility offers ongoing dealer monitoring. If you are an alarm professional looking for the perfect monitoring facility  to oversee your accounts, you have the opportunity to become an Intercity Alarms’ affiliated dealer. Just call 1-800-872-9823 and ask for the Monitoring Facility  Manager at ext. 127.

DEALER ACCESS
 
One of the easiest ways to keep track of your accounts is by taking advantage of our Dealer Access service. This service is free to all of our dealers and only requires a computer and Internet connection. Dealer Access allows you to log in directly to our system for information on all of your accounts, and to print reports locally. For more information please contact the Monitoring Facility  Manager at 1-800-872-9823 or dealers@intercityalarms.com.
 
A.M. NOTIFY
 
Intercity Alarms offers a service called A.M. Notify that automatically faxes you a summary of all alarms dispatched and all trouble signals received in the previous 24 hours. This service is free for our dealers. To take advantage of this service contact the Monitoring Facility  Manager at 1-800-872-9823 or dealers@intercityalarms.com. Simply provide a fax number and time of day you prefer the fax to be generated.
 
LATE-TO-TEST REPORT
 
Intercity Alarms offers a daily faxed report of all accounts that are programmed for a daily, weekly or monthly test that have missed their tests in the previous 24 hours. This service is free and can be activated by contacting the Monitoring Facility  Manager at 1-800-872-9823 or dealers@intercityalarms.com. You’ll just need to provide a fax number and the time of day you prefer to receive the Late-to-Test report.

PUTTING ACCOUNTS ONLINE

Account numbers will be provided to you by our Data Entry department. Simply call 1-800-872-9823 for a block of numbers to be used. Before an account can be put online at Intercity Alarms, we require a hard copy of the account data and test signals to be sent to the monitoring facility. The account data can be mailed or faxed, or emailed to dataentry@intercityalarms.com. Data must be received by Intercity Alarms before the account will be put online - there are no exceptions to this process. Only Data Entry may enable a new account; the dispatchers are able to check signals for you but are unable to activate a new account. Data Entry can be reached at 1-800-872-9823.

PUTTING ACCOUNTS ON TEST/CHECKING ACCOUNT STATUS

If you wish to put one of your accounts on test so it may be worked on, simply call the monitoring facility at 1-800-652-5555 and ask one of the dispatchers to put the account on test. You may also call in to request history or account information. For all requests, a dealer pass code or number must be used. Please be aware that dispatchers are unable to add new accounts. To add a new account, please contact our Data Entry Department.

DEALER, SUBSCRIBER AND TEMPORARY NOTES
 
Intercity offers three levels of notes that can be applied to each monitored account: Dealer Notes, Subscriber Notes and Temporary Notes. These notes detail how dispatchers must respond to each alarm received. 
 
The most basic of these notes are the Dealer Notes. Each dealer is responsible for initially providing a complete list of generic instructions on handling fire, burglar, panic/holdup and other alarms based on a sample provided when you are first established as a dealer. These notes will apply to all accounts that you establish with us. 
 
Dealer Notes are superseded by Subscriber Notes, which apply only to the particular account for which they are established. For increased clarity, Subscriber Notes should be kept to a minimum. 
 
Temporary Notes are temporary exceptions that override both Dealer Notes and Subscriber Notes for a specific period of time, after which they are automatically cancelled. 
 
The maintenance of Dealer Notes and Subscriber Notes is the responsibility of the dealer. Any change to these notes must be submitted to Data Entry in writing. Temporary Notes should be faxed to (508) 398-2901 and must contain a specific end date.
 
DISCONNECTING ACCOUNTS
 
There are two steps to canceling an account:
 
1. The cancellation request must be in writing. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted under any circumstances. On the cancellation request, please include a statement similar to the following:

"I certify that this alarm panel has been physically disabled, reprogrammed or otherwise prevented from sending further alarm signals to Intercity Alarms' monitoring facility."

2. Secondly, the panel must be disabled before we will remove the account from your monitoring bill.  If the panel continues to send signals to us it will be billed as an active account until the panel has been disabled.  In addition, signals received on an account after the monitoring has been cancelled may be billed on a per signal basis as well.
